Scottish Borders Council, UK - Points Simulator (for budgets 2020/21)
Overview
Scottish Borders Council were due to set their upcoming budget in February 2021 whilst at the same time be looking to review their corporate plan. As both the budget and plan impact the lives of all of their citizens, the local authority wanted to involve the public in prioritising spending and allocating resources to ensure that investment benefited the whole community.
The impact of covid-19 was also a key focus and the local authority used Simulator to help the public better understand how the pandemic might have impacted funding for certain services whilst gathering important feedback to help direct services in the future.
