Scottish Borders Council, UK - Budget Simulator

Overview

Scottish Borders Council in Scotland used a budget Simulator between 2013 & 2015 to involve their citizens in their ongoing budget challenge. 

Participants were asked to use Simulator and prioritise which services they favoured the most and therefore would choose not to reduce. In order to complete the challenge they would then need to make reductions to less favourable services in order to make a trade-off and balance the books!
