Overview

Liverpool City Council in England were facing their worst financial crisis since World War 2 (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-merseyside-49752990) and needed to make savings to the sum of £57 million by the next financial year to balance the books!

To ensure that they understood the needs and wants of the public, and so that they were better informed as to which services would be less impactful to the public if they were to be reduced; Liverpool City Council opted to use a budget Simulator and involve their citizens in making the tough decisions required to make up the budget deficit.
