Hull City Council, UK - Budget Simulator

Overview

Hull City Council in England found themselves facing challenging spending decisions. Given the difficult choices at hand, the Council wanted to ensure its citizens were engaged in the budgeting process so opted to use Simulator and invited their citizens to have a go at balancing the books.

They needed to make savings of £41 million over two years so asked the public what services they’d keep, and which ones they’d cut in order to hit their financial target.
